We just bought a real Tiger mochi machine, but we also wanted to stick with Japanese tradition and do it right... to pound mochi (sticky rice dessert) from inside an old stump. This is the way the Japanese have been doing it for... centuries??
We're just getting started! Kimbal's friend and aikido student, Mitch, is meticulously grinding away at this oak log with a chainsaw. It took him over an hour to get this far. And much more to do if we want our 1st annual Mochi Pounding Party on New Year's day, 2019!
Here's a video of traditional Japanese mochi pounding. It's kinda dangerous. Hopefully we'll all be keeping our hands.
